Join us for a (short) bushwalk for a great cause and more

Hey *|FNAME|*,

Firstly, a quick warm welcome to our newest Lilo community members!

Our big news is that our website now reflects Lilo's shift in emphasis from only teaching people about managing stress to now also providing experiences in nature that enable you to experience this for yourself.

In the depths of winter, it is so easy to just stay indoors. But we need sunlight and fresh air. And being in nature is so good for lowering stress levels and wellbeing in general.

So in this spirit and with the dual purpose of raising awareness for the Australian Conservation Foundation, I am hosting one of their 'Nature Outings'.

When: Sunday the 30th of June at 1.30 pm
Where: Pound Bend, about 45 min's from Melbourne CBD

If you're interested reply to this email to request more info.

We will go on a shortish bushwalk, but instead of treating this as a hike, we will use this opportunity to have more of a 'forest bathing' kind of an outing. This is a Japanese tradition that has been extensively researched for its health benefits including lowering blood pressure and boosting your immune system.

We all know it feels good to get out in nature, so here's your opportunity. It's appropriate for literally any level of fitness, and I'll be bringing along my four-year-old so we will be going slow! But you can, of course, go at your own pace. It's usually a walk that takes about 45 minutes. It might take us an hour or so. ;)

Being indoors all the time, we forget just how precious our natural environment is - but it is so special and we must not take it for granted.

Forest bathing is all about meandering aimlessly and taking in the sights and smells so is effectively a type of mindfulness practice. Check out this Time Magazine article for more info.

If you'd like to find out more about a half or full day retreat in nature for your team where you can learn about the science of less stress and experience it for yourselves get in touch here

You may (or may not) be aware that I recently attended an incredible event in Byron Bay which was attended by 200 or so people hell-bent on creating a better world. Well, I'm so pleased to say that hosting this nature outing and a whole lot of other amazing happenings are a direct result of this phenomenal event.

I was supported by my community and the organisers to go - and I can't even begin to express how grateful I am for this incredible opportunity. Please take a moment to find out what it was all about in this post

I sincerely hope that even just a smidgen of the contagious motivation I feel to create a better world that I caught there rubs off on you! ;)

Lastly, stay warm and well in these cold times. Take care of yourself and one another. And perhaps try to think of one thing you can do in the next few days that will have a positive impact on someone somewhere.

And let me know any thoughts or queries you may have. I absolutely love hearing from you.

With warmth,

Susie and the Lilo team
